Musicians are embracing a return to normality by creating more music. With almost the third month of 2022 coming to an end, many artists in the United States and around the world have excited their fans with news of upcoming albums. The following are anticipated album releases to look out for this year.
- ‘Crash’ by Charli XCX
Charli XCX has never ceased to amaze fans since the pandemic began. She released several singles during lockdown that fans enjoyed. This year, the British singer and songwriter will release her fifth album titled Crash on May 18. The album will feature various artists, including Christine and the Queens, Ariel Rechtshaid and Caroline Polachek. - ‘Chloe and The Next 20th Century’ by Father John Misty
Another anticipated album is Father John Misty’s Chloe and the Next 20th Century. Set for release on April 8, Misty’s fifth album is his first work since the premiere of God’s Favorite Customer in 2018. The new album will be released via Bella Union in Europe and Sub Pop globally. - ‘Fear of the Dawn’ and ‘Entering Heaven Alive’ by Jack White
One half of The White Stripes, Jack White, is expected to have an amazing year with the release of two albums. Fear of Dawn will premiere on April 8, while Entering Heaven Alive is set for release on July 22. The two albums from the Blue Rocks icon will surely make up for the lost time. The singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist hasn’t released an album since 2018. - BTS (To Be Confirmed)
The biggest boy band in the world, BTS, hasn’t slowed down since it became mainstream in 2015. After years of dominating the Korean hip-hop industry, the seven boys band is expected to release a new album in 2022. However, the name and release date of the album is still unknown. - Kendrick Lamar (To Be Confirmed)
Kendrick Lamar is set to unveil a new album in 2022, which will be his last project with Top Dawg Entertainment. The Compton rapper is hyping his new album with live performances. He is scheduled for at least three festival appearances this year, including the Glastonbury Festival that will take place between 22nd-26th June.
